Blister marks, bubbles, and white hazy areas are common in acrylic sealers. These types of surface impurities form when:
- High amounts of moisture come up through the concrete and build up below the sealer.
- The sealer has reached the end of its life.
- The sealer was not properly applied and was unable to form a bond, or build a film.
If the acrylic sealer was a water based sealer, there are not many things you can do with it other than to remove it. Water based acrylics are very hard to maintain and reapply. In most cases, these have to be removed.
If the acrylic sealer was a solvent based sealer, you can use Xylene, or a Blush Repair product. You will apply the Xylene to the concrete and roll it into the surface of the coating. This will cause the solvents to evaporate and will even out the surface of the coating by breaking down any impurities.
