Water based acrylic sealers are great sealers to use if you are looking to achieve a low gloss to high gloss finishing without darkening the surface of the concrete.

When choosing a water based acrylic concrete sealer, there are a few different things you want to look into:
- Solids Content: Typically, a 15% solids solution will have a low gloss and a 20-25% solids solution will have a high gloss. These are the most common level of solids because they perform while remaining breathable. Once you get into 30% solids or more, the acrylic becomes less breathable and problems, such as delamination, can occur.
- Origin: Acrylic resins are either manufactured in the U.S., or they are imported. Imported resins are typically cheaper because they are recycled and recycled resins break down faster because they contain chemicals used in the recycling process (most chemicals used in the recycling process can’t be removed). Sealers not make in the U.S., and sealers not made from non-recycled resins, will break down faster and yellow from exposure to UV rays.
