Best sealers for stamped concrete.
Harden & Densify
If you are looking to harden and densify stamped concrete, you want to use a sodium silicate or lithium silicate based product. These types of product will increase the hardness of density of the concrete from within the pores. Silicate Manufacturers:
- Foundation Armor – Concentrated sodium silicate (Armor S2000) and lithium silicates (Armor L3000)
- Vseal – Diluted sodium silicate.
- Ashford Formula – Diluted sodium silicate.
- XtremeHard – Diluted lithium silicate.
Repell WaterIf you want water to bead off the surface of the stamped concrete but you don’t want to change the look of the surface, you want to apply a silane/siloxane water repellent. Silane/siloxane sealers leave behind an invisible surface barrier that will bead water and protect the stamped concrete. Silane/Siloxane Manufacturers:
- Foundation Armor – Armor SX5000 is a high solids, DOT approved water repellent sealer offering 10X more solids content than any other silane siloxane on the market.
Satin Sheen – Wet Look – High Gloss
To achieve a stain sheen, wet look or high gloss you want to use an acrylic lacquer. Acrylic lacquers have more solids than conventional acrylics. They will last longer, bond better and stand up longer. Acrylic Manufacturers:
- Foundation Armor – 2-5 year application window.
- BEHR – Annual application required.
- Eagle Sealer – Annual application required.
